Limestone is the oatmeal of stone.  It's good, plain, honest stuff, but it's a waste of time to try and gussy it up.  You could, of course.   There is a class of art that's dependent for its effect on the artist's ability to disregard time.  Such an artist would have to be willing to produce speculative work that's highly unlikely to be reimbursed, or successful enough to hire others to do that sort of thing.  Limestone doesn't usually attract such types.  You have to be an oatmeal sort of artist.
