As time stretches in both directions from this piece, I'm strangely placid. I deliberately discounted time for the Angel, but now I'm doing it still with something smaller and more simple. Having been broken at this game once, I have no illusion. My job is to create an object of wonder. In other arts this may be achieved with a gesture, but stone absorbs and retains time like nothing else. It's all I have to give. It took me a long time to know this.
